Last year during the firstThe North Face week of bow season I had the opportunity to bowhunt with a friend for the first time. We had been out before but this was our first time to take the field with archery tackle. We live very close to some public ground that I love to hunt, and I opted to take him to one of my favorite spots. I like this particular spot because it has consistently produced good hunts, and more than one of my friends have taken deer there. The fact that it had proven to be such a great spot over the years was an important part of my selection process; but it was secondary to what I consider the most important criteria for selecting a stand - wind direction. This particular spot was on a lake peninsula. The tip of the peninsula was full of acorn dropping oak trees surrounded by North Face a thicket. There was a consistent ten mile per hour breeze blowing from the thicket to the hardwoods. That is why I decided to hunt there.DCY
